A Central Sterile Processing Technician, Certi fied is responsible forcleaning, decontamination, assembly, and high-lev eldisinfection of allreusable medical instrumentation. Maintains high st andards consistencyand continuous product flow between the OR and Steril eProcessing.Responsible for maintaining adequate supply levels in steril estoragearea, rotating stock as appropriate pulling case carts for the d ailysurgical schedule.
Cleans, deconta minates, assembles, and disinfects scope trays andequipment following es tablished traylistsandmanufacturesrecommendations.Maintains communicat ion with customers and departments regardingrequests and delivery of ste rile supplies.Promotes best practice by demonstrating a commitment to qu ality patientcare.Performs assigned duties to maintain unit in a stateof survey readinessand maintain quality initiatives. For example qualityco ntrol measures,emergency equipment checks, and department cleanliness.Uses the computerized instrument tracking system in the performance ofassi gned duties, obtaining instrument count sheets, obtaining specialhandlin g instructions for instrumentation documenting sterilizationloads, and o ther assigned tasks.Adheres to unitprograms to support patient caresuch as maintaining aquiet environment and customer service.Efficient and pu nctual distribution of case carts, equipment, and statsupplies to the OR and Maintain sterility and or cleanliness accordingto hospital protocol .Maintain accurate log for equipment out for repair.Tests operational ef ficiency of Instrumentation prior to reprocessingand reports problems to appropriate leadership.Maintains a clean and orderly central processing area (e.g. shelves,counters, equipment)May assist with teaching ofnew h ires and work as resource person forother staff as well as other units i n hospital.Performs other related duties incidental to the work describe d herein.

High school diploma or equivalent is required. Employees hired before 2/18/19 are not required to have high school diploma or equivalent.
No experience required beyond certification.

Certification required as CSPDT (CBSPD) or CRCST (IAHCSMM)
