Occ SummaryPerform a variety of duties to assist the technical staff in departmentoperations.Work PerformedLevel I:- Provide technical assist ance by assisting with movement of patients toand from radiographic tabl es.- Clean assigned work area and equipment, stock radiographic rooms wi thsupplies and stock clean linen, dispose of soiled laundry.- Provide tr ansport of non-oxygen and oxygen patients to and fromvarious hospital lo cations.- Pick up and deliver specimens, equipment, supplies, and messag es asdirected.- Assist technologists with duties related to completion o f imagingprocedures including butnot limited to assisting with dressing andundressing and positioning patients for specific procedures.- Respon d to patient calls promptly and check on patients according todepartment procedures.- Assist technologist with procedure performance. Move and s et upradiographic equipment in non-sterile setting.- Provide general pat ient care according to departmental procedures;administer to emotional a nd physical needs of patients; respond topatient request promptly. Provi de prompt and courteous response to needsand requests of patients, famil y and visitors and to respond toquestions politely with clear, accurate information.- Compile, record, maintain and file information as requeste d foraccurate and up-to-date patient and departmental records/reports;ti cket-to-ride and maintain travel logs.- Initiate calls and contact appro priate personnel to obtain or provideemergency services whena critical situation arises and demandsimmediate attention.- Monitor the medical st atus of patients in Radiology.- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.Level II:In addition to Level 1 activities above...- Set up and clean imaging rooms.- Set up instruments and equipm ent for specific procedures.- Enter patient data on radiographic studies into computer.- Assist technical staff with patient prep for interventi onalprocedures.- Schedule patients for procedures as requested.- Assist technologist with procedure performance. Move and set upradiographic equ ipment in sterile setting, set up sterile trays forprocedures. Clean non -disposable equipment with appropriate solution.- Label and wrap instrum ents for sterilization.- Assist technologists with processing of images. - Perform charging of procedures as directed.- Assist radiographic staff with completion ofradiographic studies byentry of patient data into co mputer; move equipment; record patientinformation on appropriate images; maintain effective coordination ofactivities with others.- Monitor inve ntory levels of requisite supplies; order and organizestock so that it i s properly maintained and to avoid loss due toexpiration.- Set up specia l procedure trays and equipment using sterile techniquesor as appropriat e to the setting. Degrees, Licensures, Certifications
BCLS certification must be maintained/completed by the end of the orientation period. A valid North Carolina driver's license may also be required.
